Directed by Will Ropp from a screenplay by Mike Scollins and executive produced by Seth Meyers, Brian follows an acerbic high-school student (Ben Wang) who runs for class president in a misguided attempt to get closer to his teacher (Natalie Morales).

The feature debut of actor-turned-director Will Ropp, Brian premiered in March at SXSW as a Grand Jury Award nominee. Shot in Oklahoma over five weeks in the spring of 2025 and produced in partnership with Handsome Watson and Act 4 Artists.

Starring Ben Wang, Natalie Morales, William H. Macy, Edi Patterson, Randall Park, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Joshua Colley, and Thomas Barbusca. 94 minutes.

Will Ropp

Will Ropp is an actor and director based in Los Angeles. A graduate of the University of Michigan, he is known for his recurring role as Wyatt on Hulu’s Love, Victor, alongside supporting performances in The Way Back, The Fallout, Silk Road, The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Sitting in Bars with Cake, and Joker: Folie à Deux.

Brian, his feature directorial debut, premiered at SXSW 2026 as a Grand Jury Award nominee, executive produced by Seth Meyers and anchored by Ben Wang, William H. Macy, Natalie Morales, and Edi Patterson.
